Can we control who get attracted to?

I was watching NCIS, a bitchin show bout Naval Crime Investigation and the lead character who has been married 3 times, always falls for redheads…funny thing attraction – can we control who we’re attracted to …. We all know about ‘types’ …as in you’re not my type …..so do the same type of people fall for the same type of potential partner ……I’ve always wondered about this coz when guys hang out in a clique , they’re bound to have similarities in character that binds them …a common thread that runs through the web of relations within the clique …. so its possible that guys from the same clique fall for the same kinds of girls or falls for the same girl. What happens then? If two or three guys falls for the same girl and they cant help it – how are things resolved? I’ve noticed how some fellas get really nervous when their girlfriends get along a lil too well with their frens … maybe they should get nervous , the potential for attraction is arguably there…. Hmm I guess its all about the follow up, the whole motive does not necessarily equate to murder schtick……
